as good a player as berbatov is, i don't think that he alone can lift spurs above their rather mediocre level of play. perhaps spurs need one more berbatov type of player to get to a position of strength in the league. he certainly is not a henry, scholes or even gerrard or lampard.

You say it like Gerrard and Lampard are sub-standard players (which they are not by far).

Tottenham have a very good squad as the game yesterday showed. Not good enough to get in to the top 6 but around 7-10th. If they could improve, I'd want them to bring in another midfielder and a defender thats comfortable at wing-back or in the middle.

no, i meant that gerrard and lampard are great players who have brought real glory to their clubs, which i don't think that berbatov would be able to do. tenth would be as high as i see them going this year, though i could be wrong.
