Grant Sacked by Chelsea

How ridiculous can you get? Second in the league, runners-up in the Champion's League, runners-up in the Carling Cup. Any one of those accolades would earn most managers respect and recognition. It seems as though not so with the Chelsea mafioso. Grant was given the elbow this morning after just 8 months in charge and. Given the mess he inherited and how the season turned out i think he did a good job in that time.

The broader question beckons: does it really matter who you have in charge if you have that amount of money to throw about?

RE: Grant Sacked by Chelsea

Abramovich has not done the game any favours with his "disposable Managers" attitude, Mourinho was doing a brilliant job and got the chop, and I agree that Grant did a sterling job considering the mood of the players following Jose's sudden departure.
He was up against it right from the off, the press slated him as an unknown, the players were still apparently mourning the "special one", so I would say he did very well all things considered!
Two face Kenyon has apparently said 2nd place is not good enough for this club, but coming from him it's no surprise as a seasoned back stabber.
