Low Standards?
I find that the standard of football in Scotland is very low compared to the premiership. I think that Scottish football is not interesting at all.
What do you guys think? |

RE: Low Standards?
I like watching Scottish football. Some games are fast and there is good passing football in them. However some games can be boring, especially games between the lower league teams. Football is growing in Scotland and there leagues are becoming tighter and more exciting to watch.

RE: Low Standards?
True.
But there population is like 5 million. So you cannot expect top standards. That's why there is so much talk over the only good two teams: Cletic, Rangers. |

RE: Low Standards?
Geee... Maybe they should think about joining the Premiership. Wouldn't that be a good idea? English and Scottish FA work together and allowed that. The premiership will have more teams and become merrier while the Scots get to develop their soccer there.

RE: Low Standards?
As previously mentioned it's not that the league is a low standard, it's because there's a drop in standards. The gulf between the two Glasgow teams and the rest of the league is immense.
It's the same in the League of Wales, and the question is asked about TNS, Rhyl & Llanelli (the only three professional sides and they usually win everything) joining the English system (though much lower down). I suspect Rangers & Celtic would give the same answer which would be know. The reason being would be that they'd be higher level of competition, and as such it'd be harder for them to reap European revenue. Ultra Football Boots - The source of cheap football boots online. |

RE: Low Standards?
One of the other aspects to consider is that if the English, Scottish and Welsh leagues were merged in to one huge league, then FIFA would most likely not allow the three nations to maintain their international sides. It is the same reason we do not compete in the Olympic footy. If we participated in the Olympic footy, it would have to be a combined British team and FIFA have already suggested that if the three are combined for th Olympics then they should be combined for all FIFA internationals :-S

RE: Low Standards?
That's very true. It's something that the Scots, Welsh and the Northern Irish would have to contend with.
Plus there's the money, if we all merged, then what would happen when a Northern Irish team hit the Football Conference? They couldn't afford the airfare could they? Ultra Football Boots - The source of cheap football boots online. |
