My apologies to Ronaldo

Some time ago I posted a thread on the "Transfer talk" part of the forum entitled "Let Real have ungrateful Ronaldo". I stated that if his heart was not with United then he should go, and that I believed he was very ungrateful to the club that made him a star etc.

I recently read an article published by Publico, a newspaper in Ronaldo's native Portugal, and I have to say that all the stuff printed about this player was very unfair, my own comments on this forum included. He outlined in the interview his reasons for thinking of leaving the club, and has now commited himself firmly to United.

I therefore would like to apologise to Ronaldo, and as I said in the original post I would have hated to see him go, and I am delighted to see him stay. I am sure that United will acheive even more glory this season with him in the side.

RE: My apologies to Ronaldo

A very sporting and gentlemanly post, mathiese. Smile Sadly, those in the business of flogging magazines and newspapers will do and print almost anything to peddle their wares.

Hopefully, it is now all over and he can get on with what he does best, and what we as footy fans like to see him do Smile

I agree United will be the team to beat this season and favour Chelsea to be the major threat.

RE: My apologies to Ronaldo

He's still a young man. Young men make mistakes. Heck, all men make mistakes. Something he could've said or done (remember, English isn't his first language) could so easily be construed as something else.
