Should Referees and Linesmen Use More Technology?

With seemingly far more at stake in the modern game, and referees and linesmen under increasing pressure over poor calls, is it time referees were given the chance to use enhanced technology to their benefit?

Should they be able to appeal to either a higher arbiter seated in the stands watching replays (much like the cricket's "third umpire"), or call upon TV replays on a stadium screen to make a better decision?

Has the endless post game dissection of referee's decisions by the media created a generation of moping, poor sportsmen incapable of accepting a referee's decision?

Would the use of greater technology make things "better"?

RE: Should Referees and Linesmen Use More Technology?

there is certainly a pressing need to get technology into the game, though there is a lot to be said for human errors as it does have its own place. afterall a goal is scored because of an error in defence. so why should we get so concerned about linesman's and referee errors. its all part of the game i think.
