Solskjaer Retires

Today Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announced that he was retiring from football. Solskjaer has been at Manchester United for 11 years. He has decided to retire due to a knee injury which has plagued his career for the past five years or so.

I am no fan of Manchester United but I find this news quite sad. I always seemed to think he was a great player and last season proved he was when he scored 11 goals after being out of action for several seasons. I always remember him coming on against Bayern Munich in 1999 and scoring the winning goal to record a great comeback by Manchester United. I hope he stays in football and seem to remember reading somewhere he was training to become a coach, if that is true lets hope he gets a job with United as he deserves it.

RE: Solskjaer Retires

he was certainly a mercurial player that did well in the beginning and has since failed to live up to expectations and with injuries bringing his career to an end i wish him well.
