12 man Pompey beat United

Many say well done Pompey and for the most part I agree, they played well and defended for their very lives, however the extra man makes all the difference (especially when he carries a whistle and can let you away with murder).
Not since O.J was defended by Cochran have I seen such a blatant miscarraig of justice. I believe that Randy Lerner is anxious to sign Diarra and Distin after watching their display, but not for the services of Villa but moreso as Line backers for his Cleveland Browns.
Diarra took out Ronaldo with no intent to get the ball and yet no card? he went on to have several more before finally Pompeys 12th man acted. How many more did Diarra have in ther game after that? TOO MANY, with no punishment. Distin then took a leaf from the Diarra scrapbook and took out Ronaldo with the aid once again of Pompeys 12th.
The penalty was dubious in my opinion I accept that Kuschak never made any contact with the ball , but he also made no contact with Milan "Olympic spring boarder" Baros. If you watch the replay you will see how Baros puts his own leg in there and gets the keeper full in the face. Rooney and Anderson were on the line so how did he pull out a straight red?
Had United received a fair call on decisions and Porstmouth had have still won I think we could all hold our hands up and say well done but under the circumstances United were robbed.

I suppose you have to accept that for as many times as you field the extra man, you come up against it once in a while Wink All credit to Pompey.

I have great respect for Harry Redknap and for the Pompey team as a whole, I think they are one of the best smaller clubs in the Prem, my gripe is with the ref.

what about rooneys studs up lunge? that was a straight red card though he got off and as far as the penalty goes, how many times hasn't ronaldo won far more dubious penalties. he is well known as a diver along with drogba

Rooney was reckless there yes but no contact was made and I have seen worse with full contact go unpunished. Your point about Ronaldo is less of a point and more of a rant, the issue is not whether he is a diver or not and more about the fact that it was a legitimate penality. Shame on the referee if he judged it on anything but what happened on the day and on his feelings towards Ronaldo so called reputation for "diving". Drogba has a rep for diving but I would acknowledge if he was ripped off a clear penality decision, I doubt your ability to be fair and impartial and it seems you have joined the ABU bandwagon.
Crap decisions are crap decisions period, and I doubt if Pompey were on the receiving end you would be so quick to blame them for missing chances and would be filling this column lambasting the referee for being in Fergusons pocket and the intimidation factor of Old Trafford.
