A FEW USELESS FACTS.

One of the few tragedies of the football field ocurred in a league match between Sheffield United and Bury at Bramall Lane on April 30th 1927. Five minutes from the interval, S.Wynne, the Bury right-back, collapsed when taking a free kick and died in the dressing-room. The game was stopped and replayed the following Thursday. It transpired at the inquest that Wynne was suffering from Pneumonia, of which he was unaware.

In season 1929-30 Brentford won all their 21 Home games in the 3rd division(South).

W.H.Minter scored 7 goals in succesion for St.Albans City in a replayed tie in the 4th round in the F.A. qualifying cup competion against Dulwich Hamlet on November 22nd 1922 and was on the losing side. Dulwich Hamlet won 8-7.

R.Iverson playing for Aston Villa against Charlton Athletic on December 3rd 1938, scored 9.6secs after the kick-off with an over head kick from 20 yards.

The accepted British record attendance was at the International Match between Scotland and England at Hampden Park on April 17th 1937; 149.547 spectators were present.

Manchester United made the worst start of any club of the history of the league in 1930-31 season. when they lost their first 12 games.

RE: A FEW USELESS FACTS.

those are very interesting facts, and the one about utd is certainly quite a revelation, considering that before fergie took over, they were not such a formidable side and had spells in the second division as well
