can derby return in one season to the premiership

under paul jewell derby may be able to revitalize themselves and vie once more to return to the premiership after going down at the end of this season. watford is a good example of a team being able to bounce back, though nothing is settled in the championship either at this point of time

The Championship league isnt an easy League to get out once you drop down into it.

sure, but the way watford is playing this season after being relegated the season before, and with a good manager such as paul jewel, i guess most derby fans must be hoping to emulate watford, though it may be a step too far for them.

RE: can derby return in one season to the premiership

The great thing about the Championship (at the moment at least) is that it is anyone's. Meaning that it is full of great scrapping teams who know they have as much chance of winning it as the next team. This is in stark contrast to the Premiership where the cheque book rules. Most people have come to accept that the Permiership is really only contested seriously by the richest few clubs in it.

Having said that, with the septics in the driving seat and possibly a lot more money to spend, Derby may well be able to increase their chances of bouncing back up out of the Championship with a few meaty signings. I agree with greavsie in that it is not an easy league to win because most teams are on a par - there is not such an enormous spread in financial resources as in the Prem. However, I can see Derby coming straight back up as the Americans will demand results quickly, much like fast food businesses.

however, despite the cheque book signings, it would be a lot better instilling better footballing skills in players and getting to grow with the team rather than resorting to chelsea-like tactics, which did pay off but the magic seems to wearing off and though they are good, i prefer the arsenal way with young guns developing into good players (flamini) who might even lift the title this year.
