Last Knockings for the 2008 Premiership Title

We are down to the last knockings for the title race, with Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal each with 5 games to play.

Here are each club's remaining games:

Man United play:

Arsenal at home
Blackburn away
Chelsea away
West Ham at home
Wigan at home

Chelsea play:

Wigan at home
Everton away
Man U at home
Newcastle away
Bolton at home

Arsenal play:

Man United away
Reading at home
Derby away
Everton at home
Sunderland away

It looks as though Man U have a tougher season ending, having to play both Arsenal and Chelsea. I think the destiny of the title depends two things: i) whether Chelsea and/or Arsenal can beat Man U in their final meetings and, ii) whether Man U slip up by either drawing or losing to opposition they'd be expected to beat most days of the week. Definitely Man United's to lose at this stage.

RE: Last Knockings for the 2008 Premiership Title

I agree that United have the tougher run in. I think that the now absence of Vidic is already showing itself (Middlesbourgh 2-2 draw) to be a huge blow to them, and the injury to Rio Ferdinand also now a big worry. Ronaldo continues to shine brightly but he cannot be expected to win every game single handed. Three points ahead is of no comfort with Chelsea to come, I believe that United can beat Arsenal (provided they can keep it tight at what will no doubt be a revised back 4) but Chelsea is hard to call.
