top clash at stamford bridge

the return of lampard is a big boost for chelsea who have not lost at home for ages (in fact seventy-five games unbeaten) when they last lost to arsenal in feb 2004. benitez realizes the importance of a win here otherwise they will only end up trying to gain fourth place.

Can not see Liverpool winning at the 'Bridge' a draw would be a good result for them.

from all reports, that was one of the most boring matches of the season and a draw has not helped either team and with city winning at old trafford, liverpool have a little more to do to ensure fourth place finish.

RE: top clash at stamford bridge

The reports you read were completely right, it was a very dull match and always looked like a draw.

RE: top clash at stamford bridge

considering that they both needed maximum points, you would have thought that they would have adopted more aggressive tactics and gone for broke, but pragmatism may have rulled the day and a point shared may have been ok for both of them, with chelsea hoping for a blip from the gunners to haul themselves back into the title race
