United have the BALANCE to win the TREBLE

Since '99 it has been said many times that United had the side to emulate the squad that won the treble, but it did not happen. Now here we are in '08 and I finally feel that this is the squad to do it. Sir Alex has lots of cover for all positions and the best (current) central defence pairing in Europe. He has match winners in abundance so a win can be delivered from any number of players.
Many have already said that this season United look ordinary without Rooney and Ronaldo, but I disagree and when even Darren Fletcher can come into the side having not played in quite a spell and bag two against Arsenal, that says it all.
Anderson has settled in very well and already looks a great buy, Nani is a little slower to adjust but showes the same potential as Ronaldo did when he first arrived. Hargreves may just manage to stay fit and gives a defensive quality to the side almost like that of Chelsea's Claude Makaylele. Giggs still looks the part as does Scholes, Evra has added a Roberto Carlos like attack option down the left, although sometimes he defends a little too like him!
Tevez and Rooney are Nitro Glycern together and Ronaldo speaks for himself (22 Prem goals) Saha can be a 20 goal a season man easily if he stays fit but even as a bit part player he can always be a threat. there are so many other players in the squad that can do a great job if called upon, so for me it's treble time!!!!

RE: United have the BALANCE to win the TREBLE

it is certainly possible but there have been as many bad games that utd have played as great ones (especially the trouncing of arsenal) but i think they may just bag one and that too not the league title which i think will go to the emirates

RE: United have the BALANCE to win the TREBLE

I think they will be hard pressed to win the league this year. As Roop says, although Arsenal have cracked at surprising moments, Utd have not passed up their opportunities to show how mediocre they can be too, despite the perceived depth and breadth of the squad. It'll be more about keeping their nerve over the last few jumps, and the team that does that will take it. Man U .v. Arsenal on April 16th might be the telling game

Utd have a chance in all three competitions, Chelsea know their only hope of putting some domestic silverware in the cabinet will be in the FA. So you can be sure they'll be all out for that. After March 4th, Arsenal will probably be free of Champion's League worries and be able to concentrate on the Prem.

From today's perspective, its a long shot. I wonder what odds the bookies are laying on them taking the treble? Probably about the same as that of a while male under 50 being the next US President Wink

RE: United have the BALANCE to win the TREBLE

i would give them around april to show their weakness once more. though at the same time arsenal are tiring and have injured players as well. but, to take the title from utd will be enough to lift them despite the odds.
